We learn about the world through five sense organs. Each one does a special job. Our eyes help us see colours, shapes, and our friends' faces. Our ears help us hear music, voices, and the ringing of a bell.
Our nose helps us smell — the sweet smell of a flower or the smell of hot food. Our tongue helps us taste sweet, sour, salty, and bitter things. Our skin covers the whole body and helps us feel. With our skin we feel if something is hot or cold, soft or hard, smooth or rough.
Example: Play the sense game. Look at a red apple (eyes), listen to it crunch (ears), smell it (nose), taste it (tongue), and feel its smooth skin (skin). You used all five senses on one apple!
